How This Course Works

  • Practice during Live Sessions: 3 Live, 60-minute Zoom Practice Sessions with your Cohort. 1 Live 2.5 hr Practice session during Week 4
  • Watch Self-Paced Video Lectures in-between live sessions to learn the fundamentals at your own pace
  • Time Commitment of 3 hrs/week for 3 weeks
  • Engage with your cohort community through an invite-only Facilitator Slack group to ask questions and get feedback

Meet your Kickass Expert Facilitators for this course

David Lemus has been facilitating engaging and inclusive in-person and digital workshops for the past 10+ years. He runs a boutique consulting and training company to create more vibrant and impactful organizations using the tools and mindsets of human-centered design. He has facilitated trainings and workshops with clients such as Nike, Microsoft, Capital One, University of Oregon and Cisco. David is also an adjunct professor at the University of Portland and serves on the Advisory Council for the Design Museum Foundation. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.

Evelyn Huang is a hippie stuck in a business woman’s body, marrying quantitative rigor with creative invention.  She has spent the last 20 years leading and teaching organizations - startups, academic, Fortune 500 companies - to treat people like humans and to make bold decisions.  Evelyn most recently was Chief Customer Experience Officer at Sunrun, leading product, marketing, and end-to-end customer experience.  She served as VP of Design Thinking and Strategy at Capital One, leading the top 10 US bank in the transformation from traditional bank to tech leader.  She is a design thinking expert and Lecturer at the Stanford d.school, where she helped run the Executive Education program. Learn more about Evelyn

FAQ

  • What if I can't attend one of the live sessions?

    Attendance to the practice sessions is required to register. A critical part of this training is peer practice with your cohort and we don't want to sacrifice the learning of others. Of course, we know emergencies happen and we will understand if last. minute you are unable to attend! Please contact us if this happens and we will make a plan together.

  • How much time do I need to allocate each week?

    We estimate you need ~3 hrs/week for 3 weeks, inclusive of the live practice sessions.

  • What makes this facilitation training unique?

    This training is taught by leading experts who have a track record of creating momentum for behavior change inside of organizations. We have created and scaled learning experiences and have integrated two key principles into this training: (1) connecting theory to action as soon as possible and (2) Creating an accountability and measurement tool to ensure you can measure your progress

  • How long do I have to access the course content?
